I got to the dyke to be totally dismayed that the wind was pretty much coming from the west. I did have a slightly northern component to it so I hung around for a while to see if it was coming around. I wasn't so I decided to give it a go anyway. I managed to get up for a while but it was very difficult and had to come back down after a couple of minutes. I waited for a little while and tried again. During this time there were a couple of other paraglider pilots at the site but they were not even waiting on the hill. I managed to get off again and did manage to stay up for about 5 mins before losing the lift and coming down in the hanglider paddock. I decided not to try again and had to concede defeat, but then again at least I did manage to get in the air so it wasn't a complete waste of time. |
