BHPA Email (and my response)

Hi Mark

Angus passed your query about the FSC meeting outcome back to me.

The FSC has given me clearance to deal with this.
As before, you will need to register the glider as a prototype and pay the
appropriate fee.
You will also need to register as a Development Pilot. You are a long way
short of the normal requirements for this, but satisfactory completion of a
training course on the cage will make up for most of this. You will need to
complete the other parts though. A Paraglider registration form is
available from the BHPA Office, and it explains the requirements for
Development Pilot status on it.

So get the form, make sure you are happy with all the bits, and send it in
when you have done the course and bought the machine.

Cheers

Re: Registering the Cage

Dear Mark

Please find enclosed, the documentation and fee you require to enable me dispensation to register the Cage as a prototype glider This is as per your email to me on the 3/3/2000 (portion of which also enclosed).

I hope that this is all in order and if you need anything else then please don’t hesitate to contact me using the above details.

One of the documents (the progression form) as you will see is in French and I have tried to get is translated as best as possible. Hope this is not a problem.

Unless you need the originals is it possible to return them to me in case of future need please?

Thanks for your responses in assisting me to get to this stage, and, although I have not been able to fly my Cage in Britain yet (pending registration) I did have the opportunity to fly it in France and I am certain I have made the correct choice. It is a wonderful machine to fly.

I hope that due to the positive action by yourself and the BHPA many other British pilots will get the same opportunity.

Once I have a little flying experience in Britain I would like to write a short article for consideration for “Skywings” of my experiences with the Cage.

Once again many thanks for your help.
